Viking Cheers!! Focus on the Fabulous!!
We had a short week last week as we wrapped up the quarter. Students completed their end of the
quarter assessments on Monday and Tuesday, and on Wednesday our kids worked on ICAP activities. I would like to thank everybody for all their hard work as we completed a successful first quarter in our new building. We had some new challenges, learning how things worked in our new building, but overall it was a smooth transition and we have provided our kids with focused instruction since the first day of school. Thanks to everybody for your positive attitudes and willingness to be flexible. Once again you have demonstrated our commitment to excellence!

Rewind
Monday I finished up my first round of walkthroughs and reviewed plans for the week. After school, I met with the District Leadership Team to review our Unified Improvement Plan. Wednesday we spent the first half of the day on ICAP activities.
We also met with representatives from PEBC and Adams State to further plans for our involvement in the Boettcher mentoring program. The representatives dropped by several classrooms and had the chance to meet staff members. Friday, I helped supervise the high school volleyball games. Our JV and Varsity played some great games against Moffatt/Mountain Valley and Ignacio.

Forward Focus
We will be starting our second quarter this week. I will be reviewing plans and dropping into classrooms. I plan on organizing a couple of instructional walks for the week. I have a couple of meetings scheduled for the week, including an IEP and an early morning Building Leadership Team meeting on Tuesday. Thursday we will have a visit from Channel 9 News as they will be interviewing Joe Martinez for the November Teacher Who Cares! Thanks to all the teachers who submitted nominations for Skoglund Spotlight Students. I will be announcing those students on Tuesday.
