Focus on the Fabulous
We recognized the hard work of our students on TCAP by awarding them with effort tickets after each session of the test. Students who had put forth solid effort and worked hard throughout the testing session received an effort ticket. Tickets were entered into a drawing on Tuesday afternoon and one student from each grade level was chosen and won an Ipad mini! The three hard working students that won the prize were 6th grade student Pablo Valencia, 7th grade student Ethan Ellithorpe, and 8th grade student Juan Nungaray. We are proud of how hard all of our students worked and their commitment to excellence in taking their tests. Way to go Center Vikings.
Rewind
Tuesday afternoon we celebrated Mayor’s Day with an assembly. After the assembly our students and staff braved the wind and helped to clean up the community by picking up trash at several locations throughout the town. Wednesday afternoon I attended the monthly AD meeting and that evening I attended the Bully Prevention training. Thursday morning the BLT met off campus to discuss a variety of issues and go over our building unified improvement plans. At lunch we met with the Health Advisory Team. I had an RTI meeting for a student with some behavioral concerns. I had an evening meeting with Adams State and Boettcher to discuss plans for next year. Friday I spent the day at Centauri for the beginning of the season track meet. Our athletes did a great job and it was a successful first meet.
Forward Focus
I will be reviewing lesson plans first thing Monday morning and scheduling walkthroughs for the week. I hope to schedule a few instructional walks as well. Tuesday evening we will have our monthly Accountability and BOE meetings. Our baseball team will have their first games this week. On Tuesday our boys will be playing in Del Norte and on Thursday we will host Sangre de Cristo. It looks like our track team will be traveling to Primero on Thursday. Wednesday will be an early release day. The students will participate in ICAP activities in the morning and in the afternoon our teachers will be involved in PLCs. That afternoon I will head to BOCES for an administration PLC. Thursday, after the baseball game I will be covering Dr. Christian’s class at the college. Friday will be College Day so don’t forget to wear your college gear.
