Focus on the Fabulous
We had a great first quarter of school. Teachers were delivering quality instruction and students were learning throughout the first nine weeks. We are off to a great start for the 2013-2014 school year. In celebration of that, the Sunshine Committee hosted our end of the quarter banana split party. Thanks to Ms. Mikeljack and the rest of the team for putting things together so that we could enjoy some fun after school on Wednesday!
Rewind
It was a short week last week, but we got a lot accomplished. Students took their district quarterlies on Monday and Tuesday. Teachers worked hard to get tests graded and grades turned in. Wednesday morning our students participated in another round of ICAP activities. Students were released at 12:30 and teachers spent the afternoon wrapping up grades and getting prepared for the beginning of quarter number two. That morning we met with substitute teachers to go over expectations for subs and ensure that teachers are leaving the necessary information and resources when they are gone. The substitutes shared that the teachers have been doing a great job when they are absent so that subs are able to run classes efficiently. Thursday and Friday we enjoyed Fall Break! I supervised the high school soccer game at AHS on Thursday afternoon and watched the boys play in their last game of the season.
Fast Forward
We will be starting off our 2nd quarter this week. Monday I will be meeting with Mr. Jones to make preparations for winter NWEA testing. Boys’ basketball will be starting their practice Monday after school. Games will start next week. On Tuesday our 7th and 9th graders will be getting their vision and hearing tested. Wednesday morning we will have our BLT for the month, in preparation for our PLC on the 31st. There will also be a Health Advisory Committee meeting. Thursday and Friday I will be getting into classrooms.
