Viking Cheers!! Focus on the Fabulous!!
Congratulations to our middle school boys’ basketball team for their impressive performance at the Sierra Grande tournament last weekend. Our 7th grade boys played hard, and after their initial loss to Sanford, they won the rest of their games to be the ConsolationChampions. Congratulations to Mr. Garcia and the 7th grade team. Our 8thgrade team started off strong and defeated Sanford early on. The struggled with their remaining games, but ended up taking fourth place in the tournament.
Our cheerleaders did a great job cheering throughout the weekend and showed a lot of Viking Spirit! Way to go cheerleaders!

Rewind
The week before Thanksgiving break all of our 8th grade students had the chance to travel to Denver and attend the Adams County Career Expo and visit the Metropolitan State College Campus. This opportunity reinforces our core belief of preparing our students to be successful in life. Thanks to Katrina Ruggles and Adele Alfson for making arrangements for our students to
have this great experience.
I attended our monthly Accountability and Board meetings on Tuesday evening. Our middle school basketball teams had a successful week with wins against Sanford and Creede.
Thanks to Alice Burch for making arrangements to ensure that all our students received their annual vision and hearing screenings on Thursday. I had the chance to conduct a few instructional walk throughs with Julie Weatherford and Annie Rice
on Thursday. I appreciate their willingness to participate in this endeavor and appreciate the conversation that takes place after these instructional walks.
We welcomed our newest round of AmeriCorp volunteers this week and they jumped right in as soon as they got here.
They have already showed great enthusiasm and spirit in helping out with whatever is asked. We are happy to have them here with us supporting our efforts!

Forward Focus
I will be getting back into the swing of things on Monday, checking lesson plans and scheduling walk throughs for the week.
Tuesday morning we will have an early staff meeting in which Lori Cooper will go over the NWEA proctor training with the middle/high staff. We will be administering the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey in our 1st hour classes on Tuesday. I will also be meeting with Lori Cooper and core teachers to review the data from our quarterly assessments throughout the week.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Break with their families. I am thankful to work with such an amazing staff and look forward to seeing you all on Monday!
